Maillet

The recession of springs can be represented by an exponential decay function

$$Q = Q_0*e^{(-\alpha*t)}$$

where $Q$ is the discharge and $Q_0$ represents the discharge at the beginning of the recession period, $\alpha$ is th recession constant and $t$ is time. This relationship was first proposed by Maillet1).
